About

A lifetime spent choosing well

Forty years of buying, editing and selling beautiful things — and the collection it left behind.

The buyer

I have been doing this since 1984

Fourteen years buying for Nordstrom, Six hundred + stores at Ross, A fashion editor at mXg (MoxieGirl).
With two boutiques of my own, one in El Segundo, CA and one in Southern Oregon, they became a vital part of the small business community.
It’s been the honor of a lifetime to be there for generations of women. I was thrilled to sell RITA’S to a loyal customer and talented woman, McKenna, who loves it as much as the former owner.

The road here

Four decades, in order

The buying rooms and shop floors that taught me what is worth keeping.

Buyer, Ross Stores

Buyer, Ross Stores: a single decision reaches hundreds of stores, and thousands of customers.

El Segundo, CA

Owner, first dip in women-only entrepreneurship

Starting out selling high-value brands on eBay, it quickly grew to a beloved part of the community. I’m proud to have been named Best New Business from the very customers I loved.

Grants Pass, OR

Owner, Southern Oregon boutique

A shop that became an integral local landmark.
After moving to Southern Oregon, there was an overwhelming need to provide quality, value and fashion. The entire growth was based on customer need and requests. first time I heard “thank you for being open” on a daily basis. It grew beyond my wildest imagination, becoming a beloved anchor and small business leader.

14 years

Buyer, Nordstrom

Learning about quality and detailed processes, while serving customers with integrity. Going above and beyond, not for the sale, but for the love of customers.

Editorial

Fashion Editor, mXg (MoxieGirl)

From conducting focus groups to styling photo shoots, I learned how to tell a story with clothes, not just sell them. I was excited to run focus groups, and have direct input from customers, to help shape each buy.

Today

The rita edit

Beloved pieces I kept along the way, opened up to customers new and past.
Shopping for beautiful, unique styles at a value was a guiding principle in every experience. Pieces from brands such as Free People, Anthropologie, American Eagle, Bed Stu, Sorel and rugged leather became inspirational. A love for world travel only fed my love of unique and beautiful pieces. I brought home styles from South Africa, Australia, Amsterdam, Spain, Italy and Germany. I saw trends hit the US months later. All of these experiences filled my closet with love and memories.
As I’ve grown up, it took perspective to understand the need to live a simple life, hence the start of the rita edit. There are so many women who would love the brands and styles in my closet, aka The Vault, and I saw a need for a whole new customer base. It’s time to share them.

How I work

Chosen, never bulk-bought

If it would not go in my own closet or house, it is not here.

Described honestly

Flat measurements and plain condition notes on every listing.

Packed like a gift

Tissue, care, and a note — the way my shops always did it.

Great style never goes out of fashion.
